Halloween is fast approaching, so we thought we'd give you all some inspiration by showing some of our past costume ideas.
Enjoy!
Cleopatra - 2010
“I actually worked around my current haircut for this
costume- it was perfect for Cleopatra! I
wore a white vintage maxi dress and paired it with a gold vintage belt. I only had to buy the headpiece, gold collar
and a snake armband which you can’t see in this picture. It was really simple but came together really
well!” -Sarah
Barbarella/60s Space Girl - 2008
"I made this costume myself. It was my first time ever constructing a garment. I took some liberties (I made the skirt longer and wore black over the knee boots and my own hair), so a couple Barbarella snobs were quick to point them out. Oh well, it was still a hit! However, bathroom breaks were not fun!" - Jenea
Frida Kahlo - 2011
“I actually threw this one together last minute to go out
the weekend before Halloween. The KISS
costume was too involved to do twice in one week! I had a Mexican peasant dress I pulled out of
my bag of ‘to be repaired’ vintage pieces and used my own jewelry. I used a little brown eye shadow for the
uni-brow, bought some fake flowers from Michael’s and voila! “ –Frida, I mean

Mother Nature (2009)
"This was a pretty last minute costume. I wore a vintage dress I had in my closet and made a flower crown with birds and butterflies in it. I carried a basket as a purse. People kept asking if I was "a hippie". How cliche!" - Jenea
Princess Jasmine - 2009
“This is a costume I’d been wanting to wear for a long
time. I actually had a seamstress make
it for me! Well worth every penny!”
–Sarah
Paul Stanley (Jenea) & Gene Simmons (Sarah) - 2011
"This was the most epic costume I've ever worn. We went for the 70s, early Kiss look. Vintage leather motorcycle jacket and my Jeffrey Campbell 'Stevie' boots. I attached silver stars to black spandex leggings. No one knew it was me under the wig. I love those kinds of costumes!" - Jenea
“This has to be my favorite costume of all time as
well. So much work went into this one,
the face painting took a steady hand & lots of concentration (and a few
re-dos!) I found a vintage corset tie
top and made my own cape. The belt was from my own closet. I had the silver platform boots from a 6th
grade school lip-sync which I dug up from my parent’s garage. I had my mom do a ton of tiny braids
throughout my hair the day before so I could achieve the perfect Gene hair…it
fell flat before I went out!” –Sarah
